PreSonus ioStation 24c Audio Interface and Controller

The ioStation 24c collapses two boxes into one. On the input side it is a 2-in interface with XMAX microphone preamps and 24-bit, 192 kHz converters. On the control side it borrows from the FaderPort series: a 100 mm touch-sensitive motorized fader, transport controls, and the Session Navigator encoder for scrolling, zooming, and automating without reaching for the mouse.

That combination suits a desk where space is the constraint. You keep the keyboard and mouse for editing and use the fader for the part of mixing that wants a hand on it. Mackie Control and HUI support covers Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Cubase, and Ableton Live, and no driver install is needed on either macOS or Windows.
