PreSonus CDL-P Constant Directivity Loudspeaker
The CDL-P cabinets take the constant-directivity design PreSonus introduced on the passive CDL12 and put it in a lighter powered box aimed at touring bands, mobile DJs, and rental stock. The driver arrangement is the point: a segmented circular-arc high-frequency array sits centered in front of the woofer, so low and high output leave from the same acoustic axis and the pattern radiates from the center whether the box is used alone or coupled into a vertical array.
That geometry is what avoids the near-field anomalies of a conventional line array, giving a far-field response almost immediately and consistent SPL on and off axis. Both models carry an integrated 500 W plus 500 W Class D amplifier with onboard DSP presets for arrayed configurations, so the array tuning is selected at the cabinet. Pin-loaded rigging hardware is built in, and a dual-angle pole mount supports one or two enclosures on a stand or on top of a CDL subwoofer.
