PreSonus Eris E44 Studio Monitor

The PreSonus Eris E44 uses a nested Midwoofer-Tweeter-Midwoofer layout, placing a 1.25-inch silk-dome tweeter between two 4.5-inch midrange drivers that cover the same range. The two woofers couple into a single forward-propagating waveform, giving size-defying bass and a wider, more even stereo image than a conventional two-way of the same footprint.

Running the small woofers in parallel also helps contain the tweeter's dispersion and minimize phase displacement, which sharpens imaging and reduces early reflections. A three-position Acoustic Space switch plus High and Mid controls tame room anomalies, and a Low Cutoff filter makes it easy to add a subwoofer. Sold individually.
