A standard camera's IR-cut filter blocks most of the 656nm hydrogen-alpha line, which is precisely the wavelength that emission nebulae radiate. The OM-3 ASTRO changes that filter for one with 100% Ha transmission, so the North America Nebula and the Rosette record in the deep red they actually are instead of a washed-out pink.

Everything else is the OM-3: 20.4MP stacked BSI Live MOS sensor, TruePic X, 5-axis stabilisation to 7.5 EV steps, a magnesium alloy weather-sealed body and a 2.36M-dot OLED finder. Pair it with the BMF-LPC01 light pollution filter for suburban skies, or the BMF-SE01 soft filter to make bright stars bloom enough to read constellation shape. Body only.
