The BLX-1 is the current flagship battery: 2280mAh at 7.2V, which is a substantial step up from the BLH-1 it replaced and the reason the OM-1 series gets through a full day of stills without a swap. It is the only pack those bodies take, so a spare is not optional on a trip.

It charges over USB-C in the camera, in the HLD-10 grip, or two at a time in the BCX-1 charger. Cold weather is where a second one earns its keep: capacity drops in freezing conditions, and a warm spare in an inside pocket is the standard fix.
