Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 access points ask for more than a gigabit at the wall plate, and this is the switch that answers without rewiring the building: eight 1G/2.5G copper ports that negotiate 2.5 Gigabit over the Cat5e already in the ceiling, plus two 10G SFP+ cages for the run back to the core. Port 1 is PD-capable, meaning the switch can take its own power over Ethernet from an upstream PoE source. That matters when the mounting point is a ceiling void or a lectern with no outlet.
