NETGEAR APM408F 8-Port SFP+ Port Card for M4300-96X

This is the fiber card for the M4300-96X chassis: eight 1G/10GBASE-X SFP+ cages in a single slot, left empty so you decide the reach. Seat short-range multimode optics for a run inside the building, long-range singlemode for the link across campus, 1G transceivers where the far end has not moved up yet, or direct-attach copper for a top-of-rack hop that does not justify optics at all. One card covers all four cases because the media lives in the module, not in the switch.

Because the cages accept both 1G and 10G transceivers, the same card serves a mixed plant during a migration, which is usually the real condition in a building that grew in stages. The card is hot-swappable, so adding fiber capacity to a live chassis does not mean scheduling an outage, and the M4300-96X addresses its ports by slot position so the numbering stays stable as the chassis fills.
