Martin P3-150 System Controller
The P3-150 is the rack-mount brain of a Martin LED video system. It takes DVI video in at up to 1920 by 1080 at 60 fps, maps it in real time onto a canvas of Sceptron, Fatron, Dotron, VC-Grid, VC-Strip, VC-Dot and Exterior PixLine fixtures, and pushes the result down a gigabit P3 link. Capacity is 520,000 pixels and 2,000 fixtures on one unit, and adding more P3-150s extends both. Processing runs 16 bits per color, 48 bits per pixel, with two frames of latency and no drift between the first and last fixture in a chain.
Alongside video it accepts up to 128 universes of Art-Net or sACN, so intensity, color and color temperature can be driven from a lighting console and merged, cross-faded or toggled against the video engine. A separate motion universe accepts Art-Net, sACN or Kinesys K2 and moves fixtures or groups around the video canvas, which is what makes automated scenery track its content. Setup runs on an attached Full HD monitor with USB keyboard and mouse, and the unit is 1U, 3 kg, 100 to 240 V, with EU, US and UK power cables in the box.
