Lewitt PURE TUBE Cardioid Tube Condenser Microphone
PURE TUBE puts a hand-selected 12AU7 / ECC82 valve behind a 1-inch true condenser capsule with a gold-sputtered 3 micron Mylar diaphragm, in a zinc die-cast body. The design goal was tube character without tube noise: self noise measures 7 dB(A), which is low enough that the microphone can sit on a quiet spoken-word source and still return a clean floor.
The pattern is fixed cardioid and there are no switches, so the workflow is simply set the level and record. The microphone connects to its external power supply unit over a 7-pin XLR cable, and the box includes the PSU, the cable, a microphone mount, and a transport bag.
