JTS GM-5218 Supercardioid Gooseneck Condenser Microphone
The GM-5218 is a back electret condenser on a 608 mm gooseneck, terminated in an XLR power module so it drops straight into a mixer channel with phantom power and no extra interface. Its supercardioid pattern is the reason to choose it over a cardioid gooseneck: in a council chamber or a lectern position with monitors nearby, the tighter pattern rejects more of the room and more of the wedge behind it.
The gooseneck is deliberately small in diameter so it can be aimed close to the talker without becoming the visual centre of the shot, and sensitivity is high enough to hold a level when a speaker backs away from the lectern. A foam windscreen ships with the microphone. JTS also builds the same length with a lock mechanism as the GM-5218 (K) for installs where the microphone must not be removed.
