Irix Edge Light Pollution Round Filter

The Irix Edge Light Pollution filter is cut for nightscape work within reach of a city. It suppresses the wavelengths that street lighting throws into a long exposure, which is what removes the yellow-orange haze from a sky and restores separation between the stars and the background.

Contrast across the whole frame improves once that haze is gone, so the filter earns its place on city landscapes and street work at night as well as on astrophotography. The glass is toughened Super Resistant optical glass with a thermal treatment for rigidity, carrying multi-layer anti-reflective coatings and a double-sided NANO hydrophobic and oleophobic layer in an aluminium frame.
