Hiwatt DR103 Combo (SA212)
The DR103C is a limited-edition replica of the combo Hiwatt built for Noel Gallagher in the mid-2000s, itself based on a rare original: the 100-watt DR103 valve circuit sitting over a vertical pair of UK-built Fane Purpleback 12-inch speakers.
Like the original Noel amps it carries push-pull pots on both channel volumes, adding bass and gain to each channel for a frequency range and overdrive found on no other Hiwatt. The vertical 2x12 layout lifts the speakers toward the player for monitoring and puts the chassis at a comfortable height for reaching the controls. Four ECC83s feed four EL34s, extra bracing reinforces the chassis mounting for the volume this amp produces, and side handles make it liftable.
