Glyph Blackbox PRO RAID 16TB Puts Two 8TB 7,200 Rpm Enterprise-class Drives
The Blackbox PRO RAID puts two 8TB 7,200 rpm enterprise-class drives in a single two-bay desktop enclosure and lets the hardware controller decide how they behave. Striped as RAID 0 it reads and writes at up to 550 MB/s, which is enough headroom to cut multicam and high-bitrate video straight off the volume; mirrored as RAID 1 it trades half the capacity for a live copy of every file. JBOD and SPAN are there too, and none of it needs a driver or a utility running in the background.
Connection is USB-C (3.1 Gen 2), so it plugs into a Thunderbolt 3 Mac, a modern USB-C laptop, or an older USB 3.0 port without an adapter dance. The drive ships formatted for macOS and reformats for Windows in a few minutes. In the box: USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A cables, the external power adapter, and the removable rugged cover that snaps over the chassis when the drive travels. Footprint is 8.25 x 5.5 x 4.25 inches, and it is backed by a 3-year hardware warranty.
