Earthworks PM40 PianoMic System
The PM40 PianoMic is a self-contained system that solves the hardest part of live piano - getting a full, natural sound with the lid closed and a loud stage around it. Two omnidirectional 40 kHz high-definition microphones sit on a telescoping bar that rests inside the piano, feeding an external electronics box, and the whole rig sets up in minutes without stands or booms crowding the instrument.
The bar extends from 46 inches collapsed to 64 inches, so it fits everything from an upright to a nine-foot concert grand, and its position inside the piano is infinitely flexible for dialing in the sound. Because it works with the lid up or down, it dramatically improves gain-before-feedback on stage while keeping the 9 Hz to 40 kHz honesty Earthworks is known for.
