ESE ES-820 Inline GPS Antenna Amplifier
The ES-820 is an inline amplifier for a GPS antenna cable run, adding 25 dB of gain at the GPS L1 frequency so a master clock can sit much further from its antenna than the cable alone would allow. Depending on cable type it adds 100 to 400 additional feet of reach per amplifier, and TNC connectors match it to standard RG-58 cable runs.
A 1.5 dB noise figure and 1555-1590 MHz bandpass keep the amplifier from adding noise outside the GPS band, and it draws its 3-10 VDC supply straight off the coax, so no separate power run is needed at the amplifier location. Where more than one amplifier is chained, ESE recommends its ES-AB1A power supply between the master clock and the amplifier chain.
