DigiTech Whammy DT
The Whammy DT is a Whammy with a second job. The lower half is the pitch-shifting treadle - Whammy bends, Harmony intervals and Detune, selected on the effect knob and driven by the expression pedal. The upper half is drop tuning: a separate selector and footswitch retune the guitar up or down by as much as seven half steps, or a full octave, and hold it there for the whole song without touching a peg.
A momentary switch turns the Drop Tune footswitch into a performance control, so it engages only while held. That is what makes hammer-on and pull-off style shifts possible mid-solo - press for a chord jump on a bridge, release and the tuning snaps back. Harmony settings add the dry signal to the effect; Whammy and Detune settings do not.
