dbx Di1 Active Direct Injection Box
The Di1 is a compact active direct box built for studio and on-location work, converting an instrument-level source into a balanced XLR feed with over 250 kOhm of input impedance so it loads pickups gently. It runs from either a 9-volt battery or phantom power anywhere from 18 to 48 volts DC, so it works whether or not the console feeding it supplies phantom.
Two parallel 1/4 inch jacks and a parallel XLR connector let a signal split to an amp and a snake at the same time, and distortion stays under 0.005 percent THD at 1 kHz. Frequency response extends from 10 Hz to 70 kHz, wider than most DIs, keeping the low end and top end of a source intact through the box.
