Datavideo DAC-8PA

The DAC-8PA converts an HD/SD-SDI signal into HDMI so a professional camera or switcher feed can drive a consumer monitor, projector, or large-screen display. It accepts SDI up to 1080p60 and provides an SDI loop output alongside the HDMI, letting the signal continue on to other gear while a local screen is fed. Automatic input and color-depth detection with Deep Color support means the box locks to the source format on its own.

Audio can ride along either way: the DAC-8PA keeps the audio embedded from the SDI source, or de-embeds it to a stereo RCA output for a separate mixer or amplifier. It handles the full range of broadcast rates, including 1080p 23.98 through 60, 1080i, 720p, and legacy 625i50 PAL and 525i59.94 NTSC. A rugged metal housing with low heat dissipation suits long-hour operation, and the optional RMK-2 rack kit mounts up to eight DAC-8P units in a 2RU 19-inch frame.
