Crestron C2N-UNI8IO Universal Keypad Interface
The C2N-UNI8IO is how a third-party keypad, a set of dry contacts, or a bank of indicator LEDs joins a Cresnet system. Eight digital inputs read 0 to 24 VDC with a 10k pull-up to 5 V, and eight open-drain outputs sink 100 mA each at 24 VDC. At roughly two inches square and two thirds of an inch deep it fits inside the back box it is serving.
A DIP switch per output engages a 1k current-limiting resistor, dropping each output to 5 mA at 5 VDC, which is what you want when the load is an indicator LED rather than a relay. Inputs and outputs arrive on 10-pin IDC connectors with 22 AWG flying leads; the module draws half a watt from the Cresnet network and supports touch-settable ID.
