Blackmagic ATEM Television Studio HD Production Switcher

The ATEM Television Studio HD is an eight input live production switcher with the control panel built into the chassis, so a small crew can cut a show without a separate hardware panel or a laptop running software control. Four 10-bit SD/HD switchable SDI inputs and four HDMI type A inputs let cameras, a presenter's laptop and a playback deck all land on the same grid, and every one of the eight is re-synced on the way in - a source that is not genlocked to the rest of the rig still cuts cleanly.

Five SDI program outputs feed a recorder, a stream encoder and a monitor wall at once, and a ten-window multi view goes out on both SDI and HDMI with red program and green preview tally. Inside are one upstream keyer with chroma, linear and luma modes, two downstream keyers, two media players holding twenty stills with fill and key, and a ten input audio mixer fed by the two XLR inputs and the embedded SDI audio. It runs on an internal 100-240V supply at 40 watts.

Blackmagic has retired this model. The current equivalent is the ATEM Television Studio HD8, which adds standards conversion on all eight SDI inputs, built in streaming, a master recorder and talkback.
