Black Box ACU5050A-R2 ServSwitch Wizard KVM Extender - VGA, USB 2.0, Audio, Dual-Access, CATx
For the cases where the server simply cannot be near the user - a secured room, a plant floor, a dense rack with no space beside it - this pair sends VGA at up to 1600 x 1200, transparent USB 2.0 and audio over ordinary CAT5, CAT5e or CAT6 to a maximum of 1000 feet (300 m). No special cabling and no USB configuration; the PC and its peripherals behave exactly as though they were sitting together.
The remote unit carries a built-in four-port USB 2.0 hub, so keyboard, mouse, drive, webcam and whatever else all land at the desk. Bidirectional audio for speakers and a microphone runs over a second CATx link. Video compensation switches and dials on the remote unit let you dial out shadowing on long runs, and extended-profile DDC EDID keeps high-performance displays happy. Local VGA and stereo audio feed through, automatic cut-out fuses guard against surges, and multiple units rack in the optional chassis.
