Audio-Technica BP899c Subminiature Omnidirectional Condenser Lavalier Microphone
The BP899c is the omnidirectional subminiature lavalier in Audio-Technica's BP898/BP899 pair, 5.3 mm in diameter and 17.5 mm long. The omni pattern is the safer choice when the wearer turns their head, when placement has to be off-centre, or when a second mic will be mixed in; if close, directional pickup is the point, the cardioid BP898 is the one to order.
An included resonance cap can be fitted to lift intelligibility, and it is shaped to direct sweat away from the capsule. The open-diaphragm design uses a protective mesh that repels moisture, and both supplied windscreens clasp to the mic so an active performer cannot shake one loose. The cable is urethane elastomer with a double-spiral shield, and this version terminates in the screw-down 4-pin cH-style connector.
