Audio-Technica BP898 Cardioid Lavalier Microphone
The BP898 is a subminiature cardioid condenser lavalier built for productions that need to keep a mic out of frame without giving up rejection. At 5.3mm in diameter, it's a low-profile clip-on that's genuinely hard to spot on camera, and its cardioid pattern focuses on the wearer's voice while rejecting a good deal of room noise and off-axis pickup, giving it a pronounced proximity effect at close range that adds a bit of warmth to a close-mounted mic.
An 18 dB/octave, 80 Hz low cut trims handling and clothing rumble before it reaches the transmitter, and it's rated to handle up to 140 dB SPL without distortion. The urethane elastomer cable with double-spiral shield wire is built for flexibility and resistance to moisture and abrasion. It's available terminated for either Audio-Technica's cH-style wireless (BP898CH) or Shure's TA4F-style wireless (BP898CT4), so pick the connector that matches your transmitter.
