The ATH-E50 uses a single balanced armature driver rather than a dynamic one, which is the reason it reads as tighter and more even than a comparable dynamic in-ear: the armature moves less mass, so transients arrive without the overhang that blurs a busy mix on stage.

Response runs 20 - 18,000 Hz into 44 ohms. The housing is shaped for a deep, isolating fit with the supplied silicone tips, and the detachable A2DC cable loops over the ear to take strain off the connector. A case and a 1/4" adapter are included.
