The ATH-E40 is the first step in Audio-Technica's E Series in-ear monitors: a dual phase push-pull driver design in a housing shaped for isolation, aimed at a performer who needs to hear a mix on a loud stage instead of fighting a wedge. Four sizes of silicone eartip ship in the box, and the fit is what determines how much of the stage you actually shut out.

Response runs 20 - 20,000 Hz into 12 ohms. The cable is detachable and terminates in A2DC connectors at the earpieces, so the cable - the part that always fails first on an IEM - is a spare rather than a repair. It ships with a carrying case and a 1/4" adapter.
