Anchor Audio COM-40FC
PortaCom is Anchor Audio's wired party-line intercom: two channels of crew talkback carried on ordinary 3-pin XLR microphone cable, with no frequency coordination and nothing to interfere with. The COM-40FC is the four-user package. A PC-2000 power console feeds four BP-2000 belt packs, and each pack gives its user an A/B channel switch, a call button, a microphone on/off button and its own headset volume, so a director working channel A and a camera crew working channel B share the same cable run without stepping on each other.
The console puts 22 VDC on the line at up to 400 mA, enough to run as many as 20 belt packs, and B3-2000 branch boxes take the system out to 50 headsets. Each pack takes a 4-pin XLR headset; specify four H-2000 dual-muff or H-2000S single-muff sets when you order. The kit ships in a sturdy cardboard carrying case. This is the no-cables package, so budget a standard 3-pin XLR mic cable for every belt-pack run, or order the COM-40FC/C, which arrives with four 50-foot EX-50M cables.
