Vaxis Storm 3000 Uncompressed HDMI/SDI Wireless Video System
The Storm 3000 is the long-range end of the Vaxis wireless line: 1080p60 sent uncompressed to 3000 feet with less than a millisecond of latency, over the 5.1 to 5.9 GHz band with 20 selectable 40 MHz channels. Because nothing is compressed, what the director sees on the monitor is what the camera sees, which is the whole reason a video village tolerates a wireless link at all.
The transmitter takes 3G-SDI and HDMI and loops SDI back out to an on-board monitor; the receiver puts out two SDI feeds and an HDMI simultaneously, so village, DIT and a client monitor can all be fed from one receiver. Both units are all-metal with OLED displays, V-mount battery plates and 2-pin LEMO inputs for continuous power, and both carry a 1/4-20 thread. Timecode and metadata pass through, multicasting lets several receivers share one transmitter, ALEXA Mini instant playback works with no delay, and smart active cooling keeps it running in heat.
