Universal Audio LA-610 Mk II Classic Tube Recording Channel 610 Tube Preamp, T4 Opto Compressor

The LA-610 Mk II is a single-channel tube recording channel: the all-tube 610 preamp from the Putnam modular console, the Teletronix T4 electro-optical compressor circuit, and high and low frequency shelving EQ, all in one signal path.

The compressor is run from one Peak Reduction knob, starting at a 3:1 ratio with a 10 ms attack and a dual-stage release that adapts to the input, so there are no ratio, attack or knee decisions to make while tracking. Mic, line and Hi-Z inputs are on the front and back, and it is built with the same hand-made USA circuits as the rest of the UA analog line.
