Symetrix Zone Mix 761 Paging and Background Music Control DSP
Zone Mix 761 is Symetrix's turn-key DSP for the everyday job of feeding music and announcements to a building. It sends paging into six zones from as many as three microphone locations, adds an emergency page that overrides everything, and handles the automatic ducking and priority arbitration that keep an announcement clean over the music underneath. Twelve inputs feed it: four are switchable balanced mic or line, and eight more are line-level sources summed as stereo pairs, routed out to six balanced zone outputs.
Every input and output channel carries a full complement of processing, including dynamics, feedback elimination, ambient noise sensing, EQ, and loudspeaker management, so each zone can be tuned to its room. Audio runs at 48 kHz with 20 Hz to 20 kHz response within half a decibel and better than 110 dB of dynamic range. The mic preamps offer +40 dB of gain with +20 VDC phantom power, and connections are made on 3.81 mm terminal blocks plus RCA jacks for a media source. Like the rest of the line, it is configured through app-based software rather than blank-canvas programming.
