Symetrix xControl GPIO Expander
xControl is the box you add when a Symetrix IP DSP runs out of contacts. It brings 8 analog control inputs, each configurable as one potentiometer or two switches, and 16 logic outputs that will drive LEDs, fire external relays or hold a contact closure. In conferencing and paging that usually means push-to-talk buttons and their tally lights, wired where the mics are rather than back at the rack.
Two RS-232 ports are included, each independently configurable to issue commands to, or receive them from, a projector, camera, lighting desk or a third-party control system. It is programmed in Composer alongside the rest of the system, and more than one xControl can be combined when a site needs more. Power arrives over PoE from a switch or the included injector, and the half-rack chassis mounts in an optional 1U rack tray or on a surface bracket.
