Sony MAS-A100 Beamforming Ceiling Microphone with Dante
The MAS-A100 is Sony's beamforming ceiling microphone for meeting rooms and lecture spaces, where getting a microphone in front of every talker is neither practical nor wanted. It steers its pickup toward whoever is speaking, with a capture range that can be set narrow, standard or wide to match a small huddle room or a wide boardroom table.
Processing is on board rather than in a separate DSP: automatic gain control, noise reduction of up to 24 dB, feedback reduction of up to 32 dB, a noise gate, and automatic calibration with a test signal so the room is measured rather than guessed. Output is two Dante channels, a main mix and a record feed, at 48 kHz and 24 bits, and a single Cat5e run carries both the audio and Class 0 PoE power. Setup runs in a browser, and a ceiling bracket ships in the box.
