Shure WL184 Supercardioid Lavalier Microphone
The WL184 is a supercardioid condenser lavalier built for speech where an omnidirectional lav would give up too much gain to the room. Its tight 115-degree pickup favors the wearer and rejects sound from the sides and rear, which controls feedback and background noise in live settings, houses of worship, and busy stages. The small electret capsule keeps the microphone discreet while delivering clear, intelligible voice reproduction, and CommShield technology guards against interference from nearby cellular and digital RF devices.
A 1.2 m (4 ft) cable terminates in a 4-pin (TA4F) mini connector that plugs directly into a Shure bodypack transmitter, drawing its bias power from the pack. The included tie clip rotates in 90-degree intervals for placement flexibility, and a supplied dual tie clip holds two microphones for redundant miking. A snap-fit foam windscreen ships in the box, and the cartridge is interchangeable with other Shure WL-series elements.
