Shure WL183 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone
The WL183 is an omnidirectional condenser lavalier for speech, sized to clip discreetly on a lapel and disappear on camera. Its 360-degree pickup keeps a talker's level steady as the head turns, and the low-mass condenser element captures a natural, intelligible voice with low handling noise. Shure's CommShield technology guards the signal against interference from cellular phones and digital bodypack transmitters, so a lav stays clean even in an RF-crowded room.
The mic terminates in a four-foot cable with a four-pin mini (TA4F) connector that plugs directly into a Shure wireless bodypack transmitter, and its cartridge is interchangeable with other WL18x elements for a different pattern later. The included tie clip rotates in 90-degree steps for placement flexibility, a supplied dual tie clip holds two mics for redundant or dual-subject miking, and a snap-fit foam windscreen tames breath and wind noise.
