Sennheiser e608-ew Clip-On Instrument Microphone
The e 608 is a miniature dynamic clip-on for wind, brass, and drums, wired here for Sennheiser's evolution wireless bodypacks. A flexible gooseneck and integrated clamp let it grip a bell, rim, or lip and hold position, so a horn or sax player can move while the mic stays on the sound. At about 20 grams it disappears on the instrument, and the supercardioid pattern tightens rejection to the sides and rear to hold off the rest of a loud stage.
Being a dynamic, it needs no phantom power and takes very high SPL without complaint, which suits close-miking brass. A humbucking coil and internal shock mount keep hum and handling noise down, and the fiberglass housing with a tear-resistant cable stands up to gigging. This version terminates in the locking jack that plugs directly into evolution wireless SK bodypack transmitters, and it ships with a microphone clip and pouch.
