RDL D-PSP1AF Format-A Decora-Style Active Loudspeaker, 2 W Class D
The RDL D-PSP1AF is the installer-level version of RDL's Format-A Decora-style active loudspeaker. Like the user-adjustable D-PSP1A, it packs a driver, a 2 watt Class D amplifier, and an analog compressor/limiter into a single Decora insert, and it takes both audio and 24 Vdc power over one rear-panel RJ45 jack using RDL Format-A wiring. A rear switch selects the Format-A signal pair (A, B, or C), so multiple speakers can share a cable run while playing different feeds.
The difference is the volume control: on this model the level is set by the installer behind the speaker grill rather than on the front panel, which prevents casual or unauthorized changes in public spaces. Amplification stays crisp through the tuned Class D stage, the limiter keeps peaks from clipping, and the speaker covers 150 Hz to 20 kHz nominal at up to 81 dB SPL. It ships in white, with black, gray, and stainless-steel finishes available.
