PreSonus StudioLive 312AI Active Loudspeaker

The 312AI is a three-way cabinet built around a proprietary coaxial: a 12-inch low-frequency driver plus an 8-inch horn-loaded CoActual coaxial speaker handling mids and highs from a single point source. Because the acoustic center stays consistent and the driver's response is symmetrical, imaging holds together across the coverage area instead of shifting as you walk past it. Amplification is 2,000 W RMS of triamplified Class D.

Active Integration is the other half of the product. The cabinet carries an onboard loudspeaker processor reachable over a standard LAN by Ethernet or Wi-Fi, and the SL Room Control app for iPad, Mac, and Windows gives individual and group control of alignment delay, parametric EQ, notch filters, graphic EQ, and group level, plus performance monitoring for every AI loudspeaker on the network. An optional SL-Dante-SPK card puts the box on a Dante network. The rear panel has a combo XLR/TRS line input and an XLR microphone input on an XMAX Class A preamp with 12V phantom power. Paired with a StudioLive 18sAI subwoofer the system is time- and phase-aligned as a true four-way, with an optional 100 Hz overlap.
