PreSonus AIR XD Active Subwoofer
Both AIR XD subwoofers run 2,000 W of Class D amplification into a custom long-excursion driver, the Sub 15 on a 15-inch cone with a 3-inch voice coil and the Sub 18 on an 18-inch. What separates them from a generic powered sub is the tuning menu: variable lowpass filtering, alignment delay for time-aligning the sub to the tops, and presets for cardioid and end-fire array deployment when the low end needs to stay off the stage.
A 2.6-inch full-color LCD gives metering and direct access to the DSP presets and EQ, so a system tech can set the crossover point and delay at the cabinet without a laptop. Bluetooth with TWS Bridge Mode pairs the sub wirelessly with AIR XD full-range boxes, and direct outputs let the sub sit inline in a front-of-house or monitor path. The wood enclosure has ergonomic handles, ground-stacking provisions, and built-in caster mounting, so the same cabinet works flown, stacked, or permanently installed.
