MOTU MIDI Express XT 8x9 USB MIDI Interface, Patchbay and Synchronizer

The MIDI Express XT is the full-size MOTU MIDI interface: eight MIDI inputs, nine MIDI outputs and 128 MIDI channels, working as an interface, a patchbay and a merger. Sixteen one-touch presets, eight factory and eight user-programmable, give instant front-panel access to different routing setups, and the ClockWorks console software for Mac and Windows handles routing, merging and muting in detail.

As a professional SMPTE synchronizer it converts and stripes time code in all frame formats, 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97 drop and non-drop, and 30, with jam sync and adjustable freewheeling. It serves as a MIDI Machine Control master or slave and can distribute MMC transport commands to every connected device. A front-panel pedal input accepts a footswitch that can be programmed to send MIDI data, such as a patch change, to any connected instrument.
