MOTU M2 2x2 USB-C Audio Interface with Full-Color Metering

The M2 is a two-in, two-out desktop interface built around two XLR/TRS combo jacks that take a microphone, a line source or a Hi-Z guitar, each with its own preamp gain, 48V phantom and monitor switch. Outputs are duplicated on balanced quarter-inch TRS and unbalanced RCA, so a pair of powered monitors and a hi-fi amplifier can both stay connected, and there is a quarter-inch stereo headphone jack with its own level control.

Rather than the usual pair of clip LEDs, the M2 carries a 160 x 128 full-color LCD showing input and output level meters, which is the difference between guessing at gain and setting it. Sample rates run to 192 kHz, a MIDI in and out pair carries 16 channels to the host, and the whole unit is bus-powered over USB-C and compatible with USB Type-A hosts. The enclosure measures 7.5 x 4.25 x 1.75 inches and weighs 1.35 lb.
