The FS-790 is JVC's ProHD fiber optic system that turns a GY-HM890U shoulder camcorder into a full studio and EFP camera chain. A camera-back adapter and a matching base station carry video, return, intercom, and control over a single fiber cable, which is the practical way to run a camera hundreds of feet from the truck or control room without a rack of separate transports.
The FS-790 is offered in configured packages rather than as a single part number, so the connector type, power scheme, and intercom fit the venue. The FS-790PSACG uses a standard high-voltage base station with an Anton Bauer power wafer, while the FS-790SNRG is a Power+ system with an external HDX supply that delivers extra wattage at the camera for prompters, talent monitors, and tally. Both work with JVC RM-LP remote control units and matching SMPTE or tactical fiber camera cable. Demo configurations are available.
