The PORTABLE SUB 118 A is the deeper member of the pair, an 18-inch driver on a 3-inch voice coil in a bass reflex cabinet with 700 W RMS and 1400 W peak of Class D biamped power. Peak output is 131 dB and response reaches 35 Hz at -6 dB and 31 Hz at -10 dB, which is where DJ material and electronic playback start to sound complete rather than implied.

It carries the same preset selector as the 115 A, with voicings for LUNAR, SONAR and POLAR tops plus a general 100 Hz low-pass, so a mixed rig stays phase-coherent. The crossover runs at 100 or 80 Hz by preset with a 24 dB per octave slope, and protection is a subsonic filter with peak and RMS limiters. Two XLR/jack combo inputs and two XLR thru outputs handle the signal, an M20 pole socket takes the top, and the cabinet weighs 86.7 pounds.
