Earthworks FW430 FlexWand Choir Microphone System
The FW430 puts an Earthworks capsule, a low-profile stand and a boom into one piece of hardware, so a choir mic can go where it needs to be without a tripod and a boom arm in the sightline. A large flex section near the middle of the stand couples the stand to the wand, and a 4.5 in mini-gooseneck sits between the end of the wand and the head, which is what gives it an effectively infinite set of positions between 10 inches and 4.7 feet off the floor.
The lower stand section is 3/4 in in diameter and the 8.5 in wand is 5/16 in, so from the audience there is very little to see and no visible wire above floor level. The /HC version fits a hypercardioid capsule: 20 mV/Pa sensitivity, 16 dB SPL equivalent self noise and 139 dB SPL maximum acoustic input, for more gain before feedback in a live room. Output is XLR-3, pin 2 positive.
