Eartec SC-1000 Scrambler Plus Two-Way Radio
Scrambler Plus is the simplex side of the Eartec line: one person transmits and the whole group hears it, with no limit on how many radios share a frequency. A rotary dial changes channel instantly, and 500 mW of transmit power gets through concrete and steel at ranges up to a mile, which is what makes it the choice for schools, churches, and crews working between buildings.
It operates in the unlicensed FRS band on 14 installed frequencies, so it works out of the box with no licensing. Thirty-eight privacy tones are programmed into the radios: an incoming signal has to carry the group's tone before the radio will open, which keeps outside traffic and outside listeners off the conversation. Each radio ships with a rechargeable lithium battery and a stand-up charger.
