Denon Flash Start RemoteRS232 Controller
The Flash Start Remote is a hardware trigger panel for Denon Professional media players and recorders. Twenty hot-start buttons fire audio files the instant they are pressed - a goal horn, a walk-up track, a sound effect, a stored announcement - and a scribble strip above the buttons means the operator reads a label instead of counting track numbers under pressure. It is aimed at the people who cannot miss a cue: sports venues, theaters, radio and TV stations, and any install where a file has to start on a beat.
Control runs over RS-232C on a 9-pin D-Sub female connector at 9600, 38400 or 115,200 b/s, initiating cues and handling transport control on the connected player. A USB-B port powers the panel and takes firmware updates, so it draws 0.3 W and needs no supply of its own in the rack. Denon lists it as compatible with the DN-500BD, DN-500BDMKII, DN-500CB, DN-501C, DN-500R, DN-700C, DN-700CB, DN-700R and DN-900R. The panel measures 10 by 4 inches, stands 1.1 inches deep and weighs 1.5 pounds.
