Decimator MD-LX HDMI/SDI Bi-Directional Converter
The MD-LX is the converter you keep in the front pocket of the camera bag. HDMI on one side, (3G/HD/SD)-SDI on the other, and it works in both directions at once: in Auto Select it sends the active input to every output, and when both inputs are live it runs SDI to HDMI and HDMI to SDI simultaneously. Two further modes let you force SDI in to HDMI and SDI out, or HDMI in to HDMI and SDI out, so one box covers the feed you need to get onto a monitor and the feed you need to get back down a BNC run.
It is the Lite member of the Decimator mini-converter family, without the scaling and frame rate conversion of the MD-HX, and it is priced and sized accordingly at 60 x 73.7 x 23 mm. It handles 3G Level A and B and converts between them, which is the quiet reason it stays in the bag: level-mismatched 3G gear is a common and hard-to-diagnose failure on location. USB carries power, control and firmware upgrades, and a power supply and USB cable are in the box. Bring your own HDMI cable.
