Canon DM-E1 Directional Microphone
The Canon DM-E1 is a directional stereo microphone that mounts in the hot shoe of EOS cameras with a microphone input, upgrading on-camera audio well beyond the built-in mic. A three-position switch selects shotgun mode for focused mono pickup or a 90 or 120 degree stereo spread for ambience and interviews.
The back-electret condenser element covers 50 to 16,000 Hz, and a shock-absorbing mount reduces handling and body noise passed up from the camera. It runs about 100 hours on a single CR2032 cell and connects through a 3.5mm stereo jack. A windscreen is included. Canon part number 1429C001.
