British Drum Co Big Softy Cherry and Balsa Snare Drum

Big Softy is the studio snare in the range, and it gets its voice from an unusual shell: cherry inner and outer veneers wrapped around a core of kiln-dried balsa. Balsa is a low-density hardwood, and using it here is what produces the deep, warm, mellow tone the drum is bought for.

Every British Drum Co snare drum carries the same Palladium hardware: chrome-plated Art-Deco lugs with ThreadGrip tuning, the Palladium strainer, brass snare wires, and a laser-cut B badge that shows the shell finish through the negative space. Sizes offered here are 14 in x 6.5 in.
