Audix D4 Dynamic Instrument Microphone
The D4 is a hypercardioid dynamic with a lower reach than the D2, running down to 40 Hz to capture the fundamental of floor toms, cajon, djembe, bass cabinets, and low brass. Its VLM diaphragm keeps the attack fast and defined while the extended low frequency response fills in the weight and resonance those instruments live on.
The tight hypercardioid pattern isolates the source and controls feedback on a loud stage, and the transformerless balanced output stays clean over long cable runs. It handles peaks above 144 dB SPL without distortion and mounts easily on a rim clip or stand. Audix designs, machines, and assembles the D4 in the USA; no phantom power required.
