Audix A231 Large Diaphragm True Condenser Microphone
The A231 is a large diaphragm condenser built around an externally-biased true condenser capsule and low-noise circuitry, aimed at studio work where the nuances of a voice or the overtones of an acoustic instrument matter. It captures with natural warmth and detail rather than the etched, hyped top end cheaper condensers lean on.
An exceptionally consistent cardioid pattern keeps the polar response steady off axis, so bleed and room reflections stay controlled without the mic sounding narrow or phasey when a singer moves slightly off center. It is designed, machined, assembled, and tested by Audix in the USA.
