The Gold Box is Whirlwind's flagship distortion pedal and a Rochester Series original, which is the line where Whirlwind builds its own designs rather than reissuing somebody else's.

It sits alongside the Red Box compressor in that series, and like the rest of the Whirlwind pedal range it is built in Rochester, New York.
